By the end of 2022, The State Council has set up 165 comprehensive pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce in seven batches, covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, basically forming a development pattern in which the land and sea are interconnected and the east and west are mutually reinforcing, Shu Jueting, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, said Tuesday.
Shu Jueting said at the regular press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce on the same day that in recent years, as an innovation highland for the development of cross-border e-commerce, the comprehensive pilot zone effectively helps stabilize the scale and improve the structure of foreign trade, and effectively promotes the innovative development of business forms. Customs data show that in 2022, the import and export volume of China's cross-border e-commerce reached 2.11 trillion yuan, up 9.8%, of which the import and export volume of comprehensive pilot areas accounted for more than 90%. At present, there are about 200,000 enterprises related to cross-border e-commerce in the pilot areas, among which more than 9,300 are identified as high-tech enterprises. The comprehensive pilot zones have actively built cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, enriched various supporting facilities, and emerged a number of professional service providers in payment, logistics, marketing and other links.
Shu Jueting said that the next step will continue to steadily promote the construction of comprehensive pilot areas, focusing on four aspects of work: first, to build a number of excellent pilot, to achieve differentiated development; Second, cultivate a number of key enterprises to enhance comprehensive competitiveness; Third, we will spread a number of experience practices to the whole country. Fourth, accelerate international cooperation in the field of cross-border e-commerce, support all types of entities to explore overseas markets, and strengthen coordination and interaction with other countries in rule-making and standard building.
