On November 9-11, the group held a 2019 annual business retreat on the theme of “implementing the plan and re-expanding the glory” in Xibaipo, the revolutionary holy place. According to the group´s 10-year strategic plan, the participants gathered ideas, reached consensus, and discussed future work ideas and initiatives of each business segment of the group. President Zhang Jianxin emphasized that this year is the fortieth anniversary of reform and opening up. The executives of all enterprises should take a greater responsibility and a better mental state, and use their potential, follow their own path, and change their skills to push the Group´s work to a new level.

       The meeting was divided into three phases. In the first phase, the Human Resources Department of the group organized a management capability training meeting. The Deputy Manager of the Department of Human Resources, Mr. Dou Shiting, shared and exchanged his own management experience. Subsequently, President Zhang Jianxin delivered a speech entitled “Improving Execution, Let Us Be Excellent”. With the combination of the actual situation, he analyzed the reasons for the inefficiency of the Group´s execution, and made effective suggestions for improving the execution of the future.

       In the second phase, the group organized participants to visit and study in the former site of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Xibaipo Memorial Hall. Seeing a simple piece of material, a copy of the original document, and a realistic photo, you felt as if you had returned to the era of war and passion, fully understood the glory of "new China coming from here" History, and had a deeper understanding of the Xibaipo spirit with "two musts" as the core. 

       In the third phase, at the retreat, representatives of the group´s holding companies and the functional departments at the headquarters talked about the future development plan of their business sector. President Zhang Jianxin made an important speech on the theme of " Decade Planning Imagination of 2019 China Commercial Foreign Trade Co., Ltd.". From the perspective of modern business theory "potential, Tao, and surgery", combined with the actual situation of the group, it summed up the implementation of the plan for the past two years, and clarified the important measures for building new commerce, new entities and new finance in the year 2019. It pointed out the direction for the group headquarters and various business segments to better implement the 10-year plan in the future.

       The purpose of "retreat" is to be more "pragmatic." Although it was a retreat, delegates were reluctant and pragmatic in their speeches, closely following the group’s 10-year planning strategy, and talking about the bottom of the list, the short-term, the measures, and the long-term discussion. Under the brainstorming, the group’s work development of next year and even longer term is becoming clearer and clearer. Participants believed that the situation of the content of the speeches at the retreat was high, the benchmarks were clear, the gaps were accurate, and the corresponding measures were operational, which reflected pragmatism, innovation and operability. As the middle and high-level managers of the group, we must take the lead in implementing the spirit of the meeting and strive to realize the group´s 10-year strategic planning goals as soon as possible, and then re-exhibit the glory of CCFT.
