As of November 3, a total of 253,000 overseas buyers from 214 countries and regions attended the 136th Canton Fair, an increase of 2.8% over the previous session. Among them, buyers from countries under the Belt and Road Initiative accounted for more than 60%, totaling 165,000 people, an increase of 3.7%; The number of buyers from the Middle East grew the fastest, reaching 34,000, up 32.6%; Buyers from Europe and the United States picked up significantly, attending 54,000 people, an increase of 8.2%.
Zhou Shanqing, director of the Canton Fair News Center and deputy director of the China Foreign Trade Center, introduced that the export turnover of the current Canton Fair was 24.95 billion US dollars, an increase over the previous session. The "Belt and Road" countries accounted for more than half of the transactions, and the traditional market transactions in Europe and the United States increased. "Overseas buyers at this meeting have clear procurement goals and strong willingness to cooperate, and more deals are expected to be reached after field inspections and in-depth docking."
A total of 730 enterprises from 49 countries and regions participated in the import exhibition, of which 65.5% were from countries jointly building the "Belt and Road" and 33% were from RCEP member countries. Enterprises from Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam and other exhibitors have reached an intention to cooperate with Chinese enterprises. Turkey, South Korea, Egypt and other delegations will continue to participate in the next session.
