Since its establishment 24 years ago, the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have shared opportunities and sought common development. Fruitful results have been achieved in cooperation in all fields. The latest data shows that in the first three quarters of this year, Chinas imports and exports with other member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization reached 2.75 trillion yuan, up 2.4% year-on-year, setting a new record for the same period in history.
With the accelerated development of the China-Europe Railway Express, the extension of international road transport routes and the densification of the air cargo network, these achievements of connectivity have all contributed to the deepening of trade cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. In the first three quarters of this year, Chinas imports and exports with other member states by railway transportation exceeded 360 billion yuan, accounting for 70% of the total value of Chinas railway transportation imports and exports. The imports and exports of road transportation and air transportation also increased by 10.9% and 37% respectively. More and more business entities are involved in trade, and personnel exchanges are becoming increasingly convenient. In the first three quarters, the number of Chinese enterprises with actual import and export performance with other member states exceeded 190,000, an increase of approximately 8,500 compared with the same period last year. It is understood that since the beginning of this year, the number of SCO merchants who have gone to Yiwu, Zhejiang Province for procurement and entrepreneurship has exceeded 100,000, an increase of more than 10,000 compared with the same period last year.
